Common Inshore Species
Redfish, also known as Red Drum, have a reddish overall coloration and one or more dark spots at the base of the tail. It feeds at the bottom on crustaceans and mollusks. It also takes small fish, especially mullet. The usual adult weight is under 40 pounds but can reach into the 90 pound range.

SPECKLED TROUT

Spotted seatrout males average 19 inches in length. Females are 25 inches long on average. Males and females weigh 2 to 3 pounds. Distinguishing characteristics include a dark gray or green back and silvery-white below, with distinct round spots on back, fins and tail.
FLOUNDER
Flounder are compressed laterally and spend most of their life lying and swimming along the bottom on their left side. Small flounder grow rapidly and may reach 12 inches in length by the end of their first year. Males seldom exceed 12 inches, but females grow larger than males and often reach a length of 25 inches.

TRIPLETAIL
Tripletail are odd-looking, deep-bodied fish with the soft rays of the dorsal and anal fins set well back toward the caudal fin giving it a tri-lobed appearance. Coloration can vary from almost black through reddish-bronze to yellow or mottled. This fish often floats on its side at the water's surface, the coloration and movements resembling that of a dead leaf.  Normally they range from 5 to 15 pounds.

SHEEPSHEAD
The sheepshead is a member of the porgy and seabream species. It’s coloration is silvery to yellowish white, with an olive-brown back and five or six dark slightly diagonal bars along each side. It is found close inshore, often in the brackish zones of estuaries. It uses it’s flat long teeth to crush mollusks and crabs and to scrap barnacles from rocks and pilings.
